"Coach Steward quickly became a big part of my life when he took over as the Head Baseball Coach of Chaparral High School back in 2018. this year was a very crucial year for myself as going into it, I did not know where I would be playing college baseball, which is always very stressful for a kid with dreams of playing at the next level. Coach Steward quickly established himself as a strong leader the second he stepped foot into the program, helping our team that was full of seniors and many young players come together as a whole and understand how to play together, and ultimately how to play the game the right way. Coach Steward's best quality was balancing discipline with making the game enjoyable no matter the situation. This has been big during my career as I learned very quickly how unforgiving the game of baseball is, and if you are unable to make the game fun, it will beat you up until you lose passion for it. to go along with Coach Steward's ability to effectively lead, motivate, and instruct a baseball team, he is an even better person. While Coach Steward was coaching us, he was also preparing to have a baby and you would never know it because he makes zero excuses when it comes to Coaching as he takes everything he does very seriously. Being in my last year of College ball, I have been blessed to be Coached by a ton of great Coaches and when I always look back at how I got where I am today, Coach Steward is always one of the first names that comes to mind as his impact on my life is something that I will never forget."
